I published this quote over at JDsBlog about a week ago, but I am not in the habit of explaining why I like them there. So, since this is basically, the thought corner, I figured I would post an article here.

The reason I like that quote is because, in its simplicity, life is nothing more than a culmination of ‘tweaks.’ Tweaking is accomplished through mistakes. How would you know what to change if you didn’t make any mistakes? We all tweak our computers, customize our cars, or change a schedule to better suit our needs, but all those things are done because of some experience we had. We all hope to modify something in a way that ads more value to us.

Personally, when I go to bed at night, I think of all the things I did right that day or the conversations I had or the people I met, and then write them down. The next day, when I wake up, I go back over the same list and try to incorporate them into the new day. Was there something I truly enjoyed doing? Was there something that was just no beneficial? And then you follow through with the actions.

As you move through life, you will undoubtedly make many mistakes. But a mistake is just that, use it as a learning experience. Learn to tweak life so that it suits you and is the most rewarding. The only way to tweak anything is to experience mistakes hope for something better.
