I went to see Eragon last night, and I must admin - it was better than I expected. I read the book years ago, but from what I remembered it held pretty true.

Eragon is a great story of fifteen year-old boy and his dragon. He discovers his destiny as a Dragon Rider through certain trials and tribulations (he grows up :0) ). With only an ancient sword and the advice of an old dragonrider, he searches out his quest while discovering his abilities. Eragon and his dragon must navigate the dangerous terrain and dark enemies of an Empire ruled by a king whose evil is ever penetrating. Not to mention his evil sidekick is a complete idiot!

It is a great story, actually written by a fifteen year-old boy. The movie is definitely worth checking out. From a critic’s standpoint, the editing could have been better, and the acting wasn’t necessarily top notch, but the special effects and scenery was fantastic.
