The Sword of Shannara TrilogyI may have talked about it before, but I just finished the The Sword of Shannara Trilogy, a fantastic book by Terry Brooks. If you are a Lord of the Rings fan, this book is for you.

The Book picture to the left is actually a trilogy, offering just short of 1200 pages for enjoyment. The first book is called The Sword of Shannara, the second is the Elfstones, and the third is the Wishsong.

The way the book is set up is pretty cool. Rather than use the same characters book after book, Brooks uses characters who are in the same blood line. For example, the second book has the first book’s grandchildren as main characters. It is just a nice change from the RA Salvatore style of writing…

There are a lot of journeys, friends, Dark Lords, mystical figures. The only thing I didn’t like about it is the time it took to finish, which is my fault. I couldn’t get through it as well as I usually do. A bit long and dry at times. Good, nonetheless though.
