Seth Godin points out that “the hard part of creativity isn’t coming up with something no one has ever thought of before… it is actually executing the thing you’ve thought of.”

A lot of people have great ideas. Coming from the business side of things, it’s not that people aren’t creative… people don’t know how to enact that creativity.

Sometimes it is funding. They can’t afford their ideas.

Sometimes it is a lack of support - be it from family or friends. People tell them that it is not possible, so rather than prove their idea to themselves, they simply accept the impossibility of it all.

Then other times, they aren’t allowed to create. They work in a job that stifles creativity. They are trapped behind a desk regurgitating the same BS over and over.

Frankly, I haven’t been feeling very creative lately. I am having a sense of being in too deep. I look through the feedreader for new ideas or new concepts, and am greeted by the same thing over and over. This new web 2.0 site and that new social networking service.

Honestly, it is a bit disappointing. How many trillions of websites and millions of blogs all to come up with the same content?

I am about ready to go back to reading books..
