I am a sucker of open source applications. If it is open source and looks remotely cool, I have to try it out.
RocketDock is no different.
I have been kicking the idea around of getting a Mac, or at least playing around with OSÂ XÂ Tiger, but am lacking the urge by spend a couple grand
on a new set up. I know how to build and maintain PC’s, why not just stick to them…
Anyway, RocketDock is very similar to ObjectDock. It has full theming contol and is reportedly pretty stable. It allows you to put your icons in a cool bar that moves when you pass over them, rather than on the desktop.
The reason I like it: it’s freeware and my desktop clutters up faster that Disneyworld on Christmas. I know, I have been there…
With this, I can put all my mainstay apps up on the side and choose one if the need hits.
There is a video demo as well. It is hosted on Revver, so check it out if you feel so inclined!
