One of the worst parts of the mobile web, even on Smartphones, is the hacked quality of the websites you want to see. Once again, Mozilla wants to change that.
Introducing ‘Joey,’ the latest mobile content app in the Mozilla Firefox stable.
The idea is that you take some of your important stuff along with you,” Doug Turner, lead engineer of mobile technology at Mozilla. Â
Joey is effectively an add-on that you run on your normal Firefox installation, but the difference is you pick out parts of web pages that you want to see from your mobile phone. For example if you want to monitor a stock ticker or maybe the latest entry on a blog.
This means that the Firefox add-0n needs to have server capabilities, so that it can translate whatever you want to see into something that the mobile device can interpret. We all know YouTube videos can’t be watched on a cell phone, well until now.
